'2010 entrepreneurs award' presentation ceremony.



Everis foundation awards the first 2010 entrepreneurs prize to Deutecno Noses. The former prime minister of Colombia Álvaro Uribe, the former vice president of government Pedro Solbes, the chairman of Everis foundation Eduardo Serra and the chairman of Everis Fernando Francés made presentation of the prize.

'Emprendedores' publish an article devoted to Deutecno's research work.



'Emprendedores', in its chapter 'oportunidades de negocio', publish an article devoted to the achieved advances on artificial olfactory systems emphasizing the main applications of the Deutecno's electronic nose.

The jury grants 2009 madri+d prizes.




Madri+d committee awards a second prize to Deutecno in the modality of 'Better Technological Company Plan' due to the development of a bio·inspired artificial nose based on chemo resistor type sensors of multiple applications, in the framework of Olfactosense, a Research program of the Community of Madrid.

Artificial nose

This project comes from the extensive studies conducted by the Biological Neurocomputation Group (GNB) in ‘La Autónoma’ University of Madrid. It is part of OLFACTOSENSE consortium of the Excellence Network in the community of Madrid.

First prototypes and results obtained with olfactory platforms focused on investigation have a promising commercial orientation and it is arousing several institutions interest.


Applications

At present we are working on a wide range of applications related to:

- Agri-food (products quality control, production management help, expired food detection, …).

- Public safety and combating terrorism (drugs, explosives, banned and harmful substances detection, security arcs at airports and stations, perfume anticopy systems, survivors search in disasters, …).

- Environment (dumps control, wastewater, environmental quality, …).

- Health in inhabited environments (air quality in offices, classrooms, public schools, ...).

- Health centers (infections detection, anosmia studies, cancer screening tables, blood or biogenic fluids tests, endocrine system diseases, ...).

- Entertainment industry (science museums, technological gadgets, gaming industry, recreational facilities, ...).

- Robotics (mobile and industrial).
